Price to high?

As I said in my reply to your other thread on this topic, do you need to buy right now or can you wait a few months? 4runners are crazy expensive right now on the used market, IMO because of the snow on the ground and low gas prices.
If you can wait until Summer when gas prices go up you might get a better deal.
Prices on 4th gen 4runners seem unusually high right now. I sometimes think I could sell my '07 with 130k on it for just a little less than I paid for it in 2012 when it only had 92k on the clock (not that I would - I love my 4runner.)
I can't help but wonder if the high prices for 4th gens are reflecting the fact that many buyers are a little disenchanted with the way Toyota "De-contented" the 5th gen. I think the "stripped down" nature of most 5th gens (plus the lack of a V8 option) makes them very desirable on the used market in a way they never were when they were new.
EDITED TO ADD: I know you're really wanting a Sport. So just remember to add at least $1000 for the "sport tax" and $1000 for the "V8 tax" if you want a V8. I'll bet if you could do with an SR5 you could get one for a lot less money.
Put a different way, would you pay $1000 for a hood scoop? I sure as hell wouldn't.
