Pro Gun Quote

Honestly I am just going to bow out, I had something typed out but it was in bad taste. Like I said though, I pray Thai never actually has to use his weapon.

SEARCH engine is your friend. You said that I never back up anything. Didn't I linked two big articles on gun control from LIBERAL sources in this very thread?!

I pray too that I never use my firearm because that would mean that my life or someone close to me is in grave danger. Have I said any different in all my years here??

Starting a forum doesn't mean you make constructive post. The owner of Full Size Chevy most some of the most asinine post I have ever seen on the Internet and his pet staff drove away 90% of their users to other GM forums.

Yet you are still here, aren't you? That must mean that I did something right!

Show me where I have talked BS without facts! You mean that I misinterpret Texas law in this thread? Show me.

I think that you're talking out of your a$$ just to make me look bad. Bad move dude.

Of course I'm still here, it's the only Toyota forum with regular traffic except pirate4x4 an I'm not building a rock crawler to go fetch my groceries.

I could care less about Texas law or how you interpret it, but you're naive enough to think the law is going to protect you no questions asked of you kill someone.

You made yourself look bad when you acted all high and mighty and think you can be a "sheepdog" or whatever you want to call it. You also seem really hung up on this word liberal and it seems everyone who doesn't agree with your post is a liberal.

What exactly was my bad move? I made someone butt hurt on the Internet?

This has gotten interesting.

I will say this...When I moved to FL years ago (pretty much the same laws as TX regarding gun ownership and usage) a nearby neighbor shot 2 young 17 & 18 yr old kids in the BACK at around 10am for jumping his neighbors fence to supposedly rob the neighbors home. No guns were seen, no weapons were seen, just 2 kids jumping the fence and prying the window open. The neighbor shot both men, 1 died the other was crippled. He claimed he got his gun, drew on them after standing on blocks on his side of the fence and saying "freeze". The kids turned quickly and he shot both. Basically, said sorry, thought I saw a gun. Forget about race, even though that was an issue with this case too. The shooter was wrong to get his weapon, confront them with his weapon, and was definitely worng to shoot them.

The shooter did not spend one single day in jail. Florida has the stand your ground law and many others. Gun owners have the right to protect themselves at home and in public and the law extends to others in your vicintity. I agree that TX and FL and a few other states have really unique gun laws. Is it right? nah, it's far from right to kill without the absolute necessity to do so. It's wrong to be the aggressor and then say... I thought this or thought that afterwards.

We as American civilians have the same damn problem that our political and military leaders have when sending our troops worldwide to impose democracy on others that don't want it...WE ACTUALLY THINK WE ARE THE POLICE FOR THE WORLD!!! Our arrogance blinds us and makes us actually believe our beliefs should be imposed on others, forcefully if necessary.

Police your home, police your kids, police your damn self, and educate yourself with gun safety. Let your neighbor do as he may and mind your business. There are tons of shootings from misinformed people trying to HELP. Wanna be a cop, get trained and be one legally. Otherwise, watch Rambo and Dirty Harry and all that on TV with your gun in the safe.

Why are you even in this thread? Just PM me with your little hangups.

All high and mighty?! Someone is too damn blind to even read! Let me repost just in case you miss it:
I understand and agree with most (if not all) of what you said.

BUT, a sheepdog also does not roam the land to protect other sheeps nor other herds of sheeps. A sheepdog only protects his sheeps, his small group of sheeps. From the quote, i view it as me being the sheepdog, while my family is the sheep(s). I don't go and protect other sheeps from other herds...and neither does the sheepdog.

Or to a lesser extent, what if i am at the movie theater and the gunman who is sitting right in front of me pulls out his machine gun. I get down on the floor while he fires his weapon at the crowd. I pull out my little handgun and shoots him dead from close range with no risk of anyone being caught in a crossfire. Would i not be the sheepdog and the crowd be my sheeps in this example??

For both examples, taking away my fangs (lawfully obtained weapon and CHL via strict gun control) would put my family (and people in theater) at deadly risk against a lethal evil force.

THAT is the point of the quote IMO. It has nothing to do about taking up arms to defend your city or neighborhood against the bad guys.

BTW, I think that i have finally thought of a good way to explain my thoughts...so, disregard my prior post! :D

Where is this "high and mighty" crap that you just wrote? Do you have reading comprehension issue?? :ybrick:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets see you back some of YOUR statements...show me where i wrote something BS without known facts backing it up. Come on man...show me that you're man enough to back up your statements!

Police your home, police your kids, police your damn self, and educate yourself with gun safety. Let your neighbor do as he may and mind your business.

Let me make it DAMN CLEAR (not you calikev) for everyone else...i have NEVER supported using my firearm to defend my neighborhood nor act as a cop. NEVER. I have NEVER wrote such on any forum. NEVER. If you want to call me out on this, then PLEASE BRING SOME PROOF TO THE TABLE. Otherwise, STFU.

Now, i do believe in conceal handgun license and its purpose. I do believe in Texas laws. I do believe in defending myself and my family with my firearm from life-threatening imminent danger from evildoers, whether at home or outside my home.

It is so fukking strange how hard it is for people to comprehend this! Vigilante? LEARN THE DEFINITION BEFORE APPLYING IT TO SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. This applies to everyone who has an itch to comment using this word.

Thai, you're wayyyyyy to jumpy...RELAX man. People don't have to agree This would be a real boring convo if we all agreed. Also, there would be no reason to talk and no way to grow in our viewpoints.

thai, you're wayyyyyy to jumpy. Actually my post is as it has been to ALL. Feel free to take it personal if it applies...that goes for anyone. And since we're taking it there...anyone that doesn't like it can also STFU!!!!!!!!!!!1

I like to make things crystal clear...because some folks (e.g. redbowtie) can't comprehend what is being written and start to attack me personally!!

For example, Joe Horn (i think that was his name) went a tad far IMO. Do i support his actions? Not really since i would NOT do what he did. But, if a guy jumps my fence and enters my house unwelcomed, then yeah, that guy will get blasted to no man's land!

My home in Florida has an easement. It was for the cable box hub being in my backyard behind a koi pond. It seved as the hub for my home and 3 of my neighbors. One morning before going to work I heard a noise, looked out my side window and saw 2 guys jumping my fence. I grabbed my gun decocked it, went outside and observed them. I heard them talking and realized who they were. They had no shirts with their names on them or any labels at all.

They were the Brighthouse guys (cable installers). These guys are sub-contracted and drive their own trucks and wear whatever they want. I could have killed both of them had I not observed them and done my due diligence before firing on them. My life wasn't in jeopardy just from the jumping of the fence. Sometime things aren't what they seem. That's all I'm saying. I scared them to death and myself when they saw me with my 45 in my hand. They both screamed Brighthouse, Brighthouse! I already knew that cuz I observed 1st.

Lucky situation...I was prepared to shoot both of them if necessary, but only if my life was threatened.

Thai, as earlier in this thread, I think we agree in just about every way, but say things differently and then misunderstand each other. It may just be that simple for others on here too.

I can't fault any man that has passion for protecting his family, has educated himself and trained himself to do so and cares enough about others to defend the right to defend them too.

Continue to be safe my friend! I will do the same, and as stated earlier...I hope none of us ever have to actually use our weapons for anything other than range practice.

Rebel, I am not against you, but correct me if I'm wrong, Thai didn't believe CCL holders aren't immune to law. But, I would go against the law to defend myself or another if the situation deamed unsafe to either party. &, I am actually quite conservative, though I usually don't take or vote sides.

To kev, you are a smart man as well. I support every one of you, including rebel, as you each have good views in your respective arenas. But, always use evidence.

I have yet to see you make an informative non opinionated and constructive post on this forum.

Still waiting man...i see someone is coward enough to throw cheap insults, but then goes quiet when confronted with the burden of proof!! :toilet:

It's funny that someone who is relatively fresh on the forum accused me of NEVER making an informative post on this forum in 10 years that i have been on here!! :D I must say that this statement keeps me smiling! Thanks redbowtie for making a damn fool out of yourself!

Here is some Preparation H for ya:

I could care less about Texas law or how you interpret it, but you're naive enough to think the law is going to protect you no questions asked of you kill someone.

Again, like RandyDaytona and RonMaiden (who also fears cross fire), just because you fear that the law (although clearly stated in what it covers and what it does not) may turn against you (due to lawyers), you will give up the right to defend your family against deadly forces applied by evildoers???

Naive? Nah, i am just living in the real world where muggers and robbers are usually armed with more than just bad words!

Let me guess...the next set of arguments will again revolve around the catch word of the day for liberals: vigilante!

I don't need to search, the proof is in this thread, nearly every post you have made is purely your opinion. Again you throw around the word liberal, what is your hang up on this word dude? Do you have that little of a life that you waited all night wit bated breath to read my response? Nearly every post you have made makes you seem like a trigger happy gun owner, do you dream about the day where you are the next Zimmerman and we are reading about you? Trust me I have gone back an read many of your post and every one of them is condescending towards people that don't agree with you, it doesn't matter the subject you are always right.

Again you assume that people that don't agree with you are liberal gun haters. You call me a coward but not only do you talk **** from behind the computer screen you wait around for responses.

What facts are you looking for in a thread about views and opinions??!! That's dumb. BUT, I did post two major sources regarding gun control failures. What have YOU posted besides stupid insults???? You ask for facts...I provided. Where's yours??? Talk big but no substance i see.

Again, reading comprehension isn't your strong point, is it? Show me where I am trigger happy! I am passionate about topics and I know my state laws. But I am also educated and knows the limits of such. Where did I say that I am a vigilante or trigger happy???

Show me newbie.

As for responses, there is an option at the bottom for email notification. I get push email on my iPhone and I am on call.
