Progressively rated coils vs. single rated coils

specifically tundra y/y y/bs vs. OME 881s paired to Bilstein HDs. Ultimately id like to add 5100s but i cant swing for a while.

A progressive coil will typically have a softer ride. It takes less weight/pressure to compress the close wraps of the progressive coil. Then with more pressure the wider space wraps will compress.

FYI: the TRDs are ~595# spring rate and the 881 are 550#

The height and the number of wraps effects the way the coils handle the weight applied. It's hard to directly compare the spring rates of a progressive and non-progressive coil.

You're right

the single rated 881 spring is rated @ 550lb over the length of its travel but a tundra progressive rated spring is rated @ 595lbs but where in its travel does it arrive @ this 595lbs point? HD vs. 5100 damping and its effect ? Thanks in advance
