Project Mayhem Build Thread

Hello all,

I bought my 1997 Toyota 4Runner about a month ago. Previously I had a 2001 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner TRD with locker. I put my Tacoma through a TON of offroad abuse, I figured it was finally time for the 4x4 upgrade so I got a 4runner.

I had a cool build thread on Tacoma World and loved making the updates. I plan on building up my new 4runner and going at it hard with upgrades. I hope you all enjoy watching the progress! I plan on posting photo updates and youtubes of our offroad trips

Here he is my 4runner when I first bought em.

First things first

Had to clean out the whole engine area and give Mayhem a good ole' tune up! Everything was caked in oil.

Changed all of the heater all hoses, coolant hoses, valve cover gasket, transmission cover gasket, transmission filter, oil,oil filter, and spark plugs.

Getting ready for our first trip in Mayhem.

Added Camburg UCA's. Definitely stoked to have these guys on. Build is coming together nicely.

I blew my CV Axle boots on a trip. We ended up zip tying plastic bags around the boots so we could finish our trip.

I wanted to post these photos of my old tacoma. I loved that thing, but 4Runners are definitely way better!

I love the look of having a full size roof rack, so I pulled the trigger and got one from a local guy on craigslist. :phone::juggle:

Oh yeah.... Look what daddy brought home!

Brand new 285x75x16. I must say though they are pretty huge! Hopefully there will not be a ton of rubbing :/

Mayhem waits for no mans garage. Also, I dont think that tire guy liked his picture being taken. Subscribed.

I went out to J Tree and had a great time exploring mines!

Today I added a cool air intake upgrade. I can definitely hear and feel a power difference. The intake whistles like a diesel truck too lol, I am not sure why.
