Protecting a Winch / Aftermarket Bumper from Theft

I mean, I'd probably just park it in the garage at night. But that's just me.

Not everyone has garages to park in, and I've had more stuff stolen off my car in broad daylight while parked at work than out of my own driveway...

Stealing a bumper, especially with a winch, off a truck in the night would be difficult, unless you live in a very isolated area. It will take 2 people to get it off, and it will probably make some noise (especially when one screams as they drop it on his foot). But, we lived in an apartment years ago and a guy parked his Honda with fancy wheels and tires under the tin-roof carport (parking for which he paid extra). One rainy night (heavy rain) someone stole the 4 wheels and left it on blocks - we were 100' away and never heard a thing.

i think there are alarm systems that do a warning beep when you get too close, and go off if there is any movement of the vehicle, even fireworks. im pretty sure one of those would go off if someone tried to take the bumper off.

Tac weld the nuts and/or mounting bolts. It will deter the common criminal.

But bottom line is, if they want it bad enough they will get it.

You could also put some mouse traps around your winch where nobody can see them so when they reach there hand down boom broken fingers I would give it a try
