Ps3

i hope to god these sorry men rot in hell and are immidiatly fired from their jobs, i swear some cops today go through training to get that badge and gun just to abuse the hell out of it.

Umm... what about the thieves? they robbed (with a deadly weapon) and beat a kid for a stupid game console. You don't see anything wrong with that? The one who was shot also had a prior felony for breaking another man's jaw.

I am NOT justifying the actions of the police nor do I condone what the officers did. However, I just wanted to point out that these guys were not angels either. In this case, karma got the best of them.

yea im aware of that, but the whole breaking the other guys jaw was because 2 guys got into a fight and he happened to throw a harder punch. Plenty of guys get in fights and plenty of guys win fights, and yes that is no reason to go and unload in some kid, you have to keep in m ind also that he's a kid 18 years old. I got arrested on BS charges from a crooked state trooper here when i was 18 all the way down to an assault with deadly weapon on an officer and put in jail:awais: :awais: i know that you dont know me but thats not me, i had never been pulled over for so much as speeding, imagine how hard it is for me (18 at the time) to prove i was set up by some other guys and a state trooper to get pinned up in the back of a park in the middle of the night.

thats the thing that got me, they were just begining the investigation on the kids for the "alleged" robbery, they only thing the police had on them was a security camera video from a local best buy(theres only one in wilmington, so its not really a coincidence that they were there) showing the 3 alleged robbers in the store at the same time as the kid who got beat up. Im not saying they werent the ones who beat the kid and stole the PS3 just that you dont get the death penalty for it and certainly not with out a trial. Police whether they are genuises or dumber than dirt should be well aware of the procedures they are employed to follow, and they need to make sure they enforce the because you can't just go around shooting kids.

and the karma thing you said, the kid who was shot, his dad is one of the biggest attourney's around here, which sucks for the cop who decided to lighten up his gun of bullets because chances are he's gonna get it from his dad in the courtroom or not.

so to sum up my little rant/rave here, i completely agree with you but there needed to be a little more evidence besides what they had to send S.W.A.T. to an 18 yr old for a video game, hell, it sounds like a video game in it self? And yea its horrible what happened but it comes down to the fact that the cops were completely in the wrong in this situation and i know the new hanover DA is working his ass off to get the cops off so it will be interesting to see what the outcome is.

He is 18 years old which makes him legally an adult. Also, I would not take age into consideration if that person committed assault with a deadly weapon. A 16 year old with a gun in his hand is no different than a 21 year old with a gun in his hand. I don't discriminate :D

So what's your point? He still cause bodily harm to another person. It doesn't justify anything. Say he continued to throw blows to the guys head which caused massive swelling due to blunt force trauma. If the guy dies from his injuries, then it is now murder.

Look, if those guys did in fact commited those crimes, then karma took care of them. As for the actions of the police, I totally agree with you that there are some that abuse their power. Growing up, I have been in 6 or 7 altercations with the police. Out of the 6 situations, I only met 2 cops that treated me with respect. The others were complete assholes even when I posed no threat and complied with their demands.

Although lately I've been reading about crackdowns on police abuse in my area (Bay Area San Francisco). A nearby city is in the spotlight for allegations of police abuse. Law suits are always filed against the city, so the police now capture everything possible on video and record all discussions when responding to a call. The officers cannot turn off the equipment and the recordings can only be accessed and retrieved by a seargent. In my opinion, this is smart because it helps protect both parties against abuse and law suits.

Anyway, back to the point, the guys are stupid for robbing people for a game console (especially when one of the suspects father is an attorney and could afford to buy them). The cops definitely went way too far period. All this over a stupid ps3:nono:

right i know that but he's still a kid you know what i mean, in the sense that if your killed when your 18 you havent really got a chance to live your life to the fullest.

my point was that it sounded worse than it was, like in my case, i complied with a state trooper to pull a gun off my passenger seat and i got charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a state trooper :awais:

whoa whoa, so you think if a kid steals something he should be shot to death with out speaking and not knowing? how is that karma, thats not, thats just plain F'ed up especially over a PS3

true but thats the thing, the police dont even know if they stole the PS3 and beat the kid up

i agree that the cameras are good to have but now the cops are going to be on their best behavior knowing their on camera except some cops, ive seen some nasty cop videos from LA and Cali lately.

Where in my post did I say that? All I said is karma took care of it. Do you know what karma means? Why are you assuming that I feel that the guy (not kid cause he is 18) deserved it? Just because I have an opinion different of yours doesn't mean I condone the shooting. If you have read my post, you will notice that I do not condone the shooting by the police, NOR do I condone the actions of the guy stealing. I do however believe that karma took its toll, but that doesn't mean that I feel he deserved it.

Why are you trying to defend his actions? He was convicted for breaking a guys jaw. Period! It doesn't matter how it was done, the point is he inflicted bodily damage on another human being. Now show me where it states that it was due to a fist fight?

Obviously you are taking this personal based on your past experience with the law. I'm merely looking at ALL SIDES of the story and NOT focusing on one side of the story.

ehh im taking it personally kind of because of what happened to me and i really dont have any respect for the law around here. Its absolutely nothing against you and having conversations like this only broaden my horizons.

by karma i thought you meant what goes around comes around. I tend to defend people for one reason or another if i can relate and in this situation it was very simple to thats all.

There may have been some conversation between the kid on one side of the door and the cops on the other also and know one knew about it so until all the facts are out its not fair for me to really make anymore assumptions on the situation other that whats happened so far. Its just a shame it had to end like that.

Yesterday must have been my lucky day. I walked into BestBuy and there were 7 60gb PS3's sitting in the front of the store. I grabbed one along with Need for Speed Carbon, Madden 2007, Little Man DVD, and an extra wireless controller. It is by far the best system I have played. I have it hooked up with an HDMI cable and the graphics are awesome!
