PSA: Rifle cases make good organizers

Not 5th gen specific but put this together for some of my on-board items. May pickup another for recovery specific gear once I get enough to have it organized.

Using a Plano 36" rifle case from Amazon. Folds up and fits perfect in the hatch area. Is it overkill? Yes. Do I care? Nope.

Not to be negative but that honestly seems like A LOT of wasted space for 5 items. For the size and weight penalty of those cases I'd want to carry a lot more items than that, especially if you're considering a second one for recovery gear. Plano rifle cases are good up top on a rack but you're probably better served with soft bags, wolfpacks or the Plano Sportsman Trunks in the cargo area. I have 3 full soft bags in the rear cargo area 1) compressor 2) tools 3) car emergency essentials and all those combined have a smaller footprint and weigh a lot less than that Plano rifle case.

I've seen a lot of people use rifle cases for storage but I'm still hesitant because I dont want my stuff getting stolen

That was in progress. I have gloves, flashlight, knife, and a few other things in there now.

If you're ever packing to actually travel or camp, space is a concern. Wasted space is no bueno.

I don't disagree but I prefer the use of this for me.

I like how it’s clean and organized but here in California that would get your back window smashed within 10 min of parking.
