Pulled the Trigger - 275/70/17 KO2 on SR5P

Got sick of the stock tires and upgraded today. Based on all the well documented and thorough information on this forum regarding “will it rub”, I ended up going with the 275s instead of the 265s. Not sure if it would have rubbed, but I did move the fender forward ahead of time to prevent any issues.

Suspension is bone stock for a 2015 SR5P. I love the way it came out.

How much ground clearance gain from the 265 to 275 move? Like half an inch?

What about the mpg hit (assuming C-rated 275?)

I'm likely making this same change in a few months. Killing 1-2 more months on the stock 265 tires since my newborn is 5 weeks, and can't even offroad for a few months yet lol.

Hey man,

As far as ground clearance before and after, my guess is about half an inch.

I don't think they make a C rated tire in the K02s in this size - I got the E load. Only driven 4 miles since the install, so I can't speak to the MPG hit. I'll follow back up in a week or so on how its going.

I did the same last week with General Grabber AT/x, E range as well. Not sure about gas mileage yet but 22lbs more per tire. We shall see. Been battling a muddy parking lot at our county fair all week and they are working great!

I stayed 265 because I did not want the weight of the load range E, I wish they made 275 in load range C.

I have bilsteins at .85 and it is perfect. Slight rake and no more nose dive, you will be very happy when you get it done.

I wish I would not have gotten the 275 KO2 tires. To stiff a ride and to much weight. I will be swapping to the 265 KO2 at some point.

Exactly why I went with the 265 load C KO2. Ride quality is great, and they are quite a bit lighter than the 10 ply E loads. Not much rock around here, so the load C is plenty tough enough for off roading.

Did you get the Bilsteins just up front, or the rear as well? I'm thinking for overall ride quality, that I should get front and rear Bilsteins. I'll be going for the .85 setting too just for slightly less rake and increase front clearance. karmatp

I just did the front. I am very happy with the ride.

Where did you all end up getting your tires from? Seeing if anybody can beat $220 a tire...

Shopped online and found a deal at 4wheelparts. Visited Discount Tire and they matched the price. Also knew a guy there and got an additional discount. Ended up being $190/tire for all 5 with install and lifetime warranty.
