Question for 4th Gen guys and gals

HELP from 4th Gen guys and gals

I don't come over to the 4th gen section much but have found a 4th Gen in my area that my wife and i like, and wanted someone to chime in and tell me if this is a decent deal or not.

2006 Black SR5, 4x4, sunroof with 84000 miles for $14,900

This 4Runner is about an hour north of me and would be replacing a 05 Chevorlet Cobalt. :jump: So i would end up with the 3rd Gen!

I suppose pricing varies per region but I'd say that is a very good deal. I had a hard time finding anything under $17K that had less than 100K miles when I purchased my '07 back in March/April.

I used Cargurus.com to compare pricing. You can see what's listed by private owners and dealers for a radius you specify. It's a helpful tool to see if your in the ballpark.

Based on what these 4Runners are bringing at the auction that is a good price. However it was bought in Iowa and spent the majority of it's life in Illinois. I would really look it over for rust

Personally, I think that is a lot of money for a cloth interior model. I would rather have one a year or two older with leather interior for the same money. Just using book value that is probably a good price though, and some people prefer cloth interior.

Not a huge deal wasnt really looking to buy anything right now anyway just didnt want a good deal go. Will continue to rock the Cobalt and continue to save money.

I would suggest to hold out for a Sport or Limited model, even if it has a few more miles on it. These are great cars and will last for many more years and miles to come. Just be sure it has been well taken care of. Also, I love my V8, and I know I would have regretted it if I would have gotten a V6, the 2-3 mpg gain with the V6 is pretty negligible when you really think about the difference you will really see at the pump. Plus, the V8 is more fun to drive

I thought that was a bit high. Regardless, you can't go wrong replacing your Cobalt with a runner
