question for owners of tundra calipers

this is a question for those that have purchased tundra calipers at an auto parts store..... were you guys able to take the stock 4runner calipers back as the cores?
my truck is in need of brakes and so i started shopping around. i found that with a few tricks using coupons at advance auto parts i can get 2x 231 calipers, 2x rotors, pads and caliper paint for 340 otd (tax included). that price is if i keep my cores, if i return them i pay a total of 211 (tax included)! hopefully i can return the stock units without problems cause thats a pretty sweet deal! thanks

I have read several threads about tundra brake swaps and the people who bought the calipers from the autoparts stores DID use the 4runner ones as a core. They don't know the difference at the auto store.

... i will as soon as the advance website comes back up... but basically its 3 different transactions using the big40 coupon twice and a friend referral coupon once... total savings of 115. its a bigger savings than the 20% off coupon

I knew the girl at Autozone and flat out told her what I was doing (swap), she said they have no idea what you're bringing back for a core.

If it bothers you, use a store away from your regular area.
