Question on 1999 4Runner

I've been in the market for a 4Runner for a couple of months. I was originally looking at the new 2003/2004 Sport 4x4's, but went and test drove a 1999 SR5 4x4 yesterday. Basics are, 47k miles, new tires, all power, leather seats, running boards, tow hitch. All for $18k...

The question I have is on the dash, behind the steering wheel on the lower left is a switch that says something like Electric Clutch, on/off or something like that. What is that switch for? The dealer didn't say anything about a rear locker, and I didn't want to bring it up in case they tried taking it off the listing then raise the price if they don't know about it. It is at a non-Toyota dealer as a result of a trade-in.

I think the $18k is a good price and will probably make an offer this morning, so if anyone can reply ASAP, I would appreciate it....

If it's a 5 speed manual I suspect the button you're refering to is a feature that allows you to not depress the clutch (or stand outside the vehicle) with the transmission in neutral, and start the engine.

I use it on our 2000 5speed in the winter when I want to scrape the snow/ice from the windows while the vehicle warms up. It allows me to do that without getting a bunch of snow on the floor mats.

Anyone know what this is and why does it have or need a bushing? Forum wont let me post the pic rightside.up. lol. The black box? I was.told it was weight and another shop said it was a balancer for the tranny. I looked at a 99 and it didnt have it. Mines a 2001
