Question on battery

I am new to the board so hello to all!

I have had my 4Runner for over 5 years and just had the timing belt changed. The dealer told me the OEM batter, a Panasonic, was loosing amps and needed to be replaced.

My question is, has anyone changed the battery out and if so, what was their replacement?

Thanks!

Hey! Mainly just wanted to post to say hi from Bloomington! Welcome to the forums!

I have a Everstart something or other from Walmart, Looks like it's been there for awhile and it's been working fine since I got the runner back in May.

if you dont have a lot of aftermarket lights or if you dont plan to wheel and put excessive load on the battery using aftermarket lights, then basically any battery will be fine.

The Belt and the labor were $375.00. They also said the water pump was leaking so they replaced it for another $200.00.

I did it at my local Toyota dealer, although I am sure any Toyota dealer would be happy to overcharge you!

Just curious, did you go to the dealer for the timing belt? Regardless, what'd it cost ya?

So Lee if i were planning on off roading a bit and want to put some aftermarket fog lights on what battery wold you recommend?

The Optima Yellow top is a deep cycle battery that can take the abuse of lots of electrical accessories drawing power

for the sake of finances are their options that are more cost friendly. I know that some of those bad boys cost a pretty penny.

Options?
