Questions about leveling/lifting with 6112/5160's

NOT SURE

I currently have the Bilstein 6112's set to the lowest position (#2,#1 which shoud level side in non-KDSS) and I still get driver's side dip of about 1cm. I'm looking to balance the rake by lifting the 6112's some more and I'm curious if it would be sensible to raise the driver's side 2 positions higher than the passenger side.

According to the Bilstein doc the difference in lift between positions #2/#1 and postitions #3/#2 is 0.35" almost exactly the lift that I want on the driver's side to balance left and right. As for the rake, is it accepted taht 1" lift in front is the most desirable balance? I measured 1.5" difference front to rear from the center of the wheel to the arch but I'm more interested in leveling the chassis than having matching tire gaps.

I rarely load up the back with anything more than my great dane (I live in Seattle and you must keep your vehicle completely empty or it WILL get broken into, the politics of this place are insane but I digress) I measured with 1/4 tank of fuel and it's a limited for however much of a difference that would make.

The 1" more up front over rear seems to be the safest route to me and that would move me to positions #3/#2 for 1.14" up front. However, I took the measurements with the quoted lift of 0.79" in front already. To lift 1" from my current setup would put me at positions #5/#4 for 1.85" of quoted lift which seems out of the norm from what I've read about leveling.

TLDR; is it dumb to have a 2 position difference left to right on the 6112's? and how much front lift should it take to level out with stock springs?

Thank you.

i kept mine even side to side. every car is different, just do what works best for you.

usually 2" will make it look level with the rear/maybe slight rear rake...setting 5/4 will work fine i'm sure.

Interesting, did you notice a bigger difference in height left to right keeping them even? another idea I had was using a 1cm spacer and just keeping them at the reccomended 1 position difference. Keeping them even and making up the drop with a spacer sounds like a viable option as well.

I'll be making the change when my UCA's are delivered, if the tracking is this bad at the lowest positions I can only imagine how much worse it will get. Possibly the left to right height difference will change at the higher perch positions so I'll just measure again and go from there.

Thanks for your feedback.

I have 6112s in the front of my 2021 and the instructions I got with my kit seem different than yours. I went with the 2" over stock setting of #6 and #4 and it leveled out great. To fine tune the ride height, typical driver side lean, I used a 10MM Old Man Emu rear coil spring spacer on the rear driver side. This put each fender well to ground to just over 37" and to my eye very good looking.

Possibly the difference is the 650( 47-281202) vs the 600(47-259768) # spring front kit that I got. Did you get the 650 fit? They also make a 700# front spring kit.

My take away is try it, set the driver side 2 positions higher than the passenger side as it is free to try and not outside the realm of normal. The stock springs are specified as a heavier spring on the driver side from the factory due to driver and fuel tank.

Thank you for bringing that up! I remember I was debating leaving them equal like the KDSS models when I was installing so I just did a visual inspection yesterday to confirm my settings. I was confused because it looked like the driver's side was already 2 steps above the passenger side.

Looking at the box, I have the 600 springs you listed (47-259768) and my instructions match the ones you linked (E4-WM5-Y506A00). So it looks like I followed the directions and ended up 2 positions higher already, #3/#1 is still quoted at 0.8"

You mentioned putting the 1cm spacer in the rear? I didn't really think to measure the difference in rear heights. I had a similar thought process with doing the 2" lift up front to level and if I end up with opposite rake just putting spacers in the rear.
