Quick qestion: I went forward in reverse :(

I need some piece of mind; I was in reverse, backing up steep hill today when I stopped for a moment, and when I went to continue, I was too slow at re-applying the gas. So, when I let my foot of the brake I went forward a little ways, in reverse, and the car shut itself off. It started right back up and seems to be normal but it was still scary. Has this happened to anyone else? Could I have damaged anything?

assuming you have an automatic, all that happend was that your t/q spun backwards and the aditonal load of this stalled your engine. the same efect would be atanding on the brake and floring it to try and do a burnout or brakestand. it does put aditonal stress on your t/q however. in the future hold your brake with your left foot and rev up to 1500rpm then release the brake slowly

Yeah sorry it's an automatic, that's good to hear. Thanks for the advice :)
