Drunk as a skunk 18 yr old idiot plowed into the back of my 4Runner while I was driving home from Nee Years Eve festivities. They estimated he was going over 90mph. I was going about 30mph. I tried to swerve out of his way at the last second but no dice. The initial hit sent me into a spin during which I hit (and broke in half) a telephone pole, then an electrical box...then a 6" thick tree (which also broke in half)...then another tree before I finally came to rest.
When first responders showed up they were all asking where the body was. No one could believe I was walking around taking pictures.
I thank the good Lord that the engineers who designed the 3rd Gen knew what they were doing. I'm sad my truck got smashed but oh so glad that I wasn't...mostly. I've got a torn labrum in my right shoulder but I'll gladly take that over the alternative.
