Rancho shocks????

Hey guys, today I was going to replace my rear coil springs and my dad was like just replace your shocks while you have it all taken apart. I went to pep boys and they recommended me the rancho rs5187 shocks for a good on and off road ride. What do you guys think?? I need shocks fast because other wise I do not have a car and pep boys will have them in tomorrow by around 10 am. I have no lift and I Off road occasionally (once or more times a month). What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

I got the RS9000 for occasional off roads and lots of back roads and I'm happy with them

If you go Rancho shocks, go with the adjustable ones. Otherwise either Bilsteins or OEMs.

Does he really need adjustable ranchos? I thought those were mainly for towing where the adjustable knob is on the bottom of the shock.

Sean, have you considered just replacing with Toyota parts from Camelbak Toyota's online (discounted) store? The prices aren't as bad as many think.

Aren't Ranchos rebranded Monroes?

Tenneco is the company- they own both Monroe and Rancho, so they aren't really "rebranded" they are just another product from the same company. Kind of like saying a Pontiac is a rebranded Chevy. They might be similar, but ultimately they are two different product offerings from the same parent company to fit whatever niche exists.

I have the RS9000 adjustable on the rear, and Monroe quick struts on the front. I'm happy with them. I thought the adjust-ability was a bit of a gimmick, but the adjustments do make a difference. I run them at setting "2" normally, and put it up to 5 if I'm pulling a trailer or carrying something big in the truck.
