Raptor Bed Liner

I have several items I need to address for coating:

1. RCI Aluminum Skids (yes I could leave them, but I really want them to disappear).
2. TRD front skid (same thoughts as above)
3. C4 Bumper
4. RSG Sliders

There are so many options, rattle can, powder coat, rattle can bed liner, two part bed liner, and in aluminum cases, nothing.

Goal:
1. Durable (as can be of course, I am not rock crawling at all, challenging dirt roads far far away)
2. Being able to easily touch up as needed with the same product
3. Easy to clean
4. Easy and cost efficient to apply

What I have found (mostly on other forums and You Tube) is that bed liners are not created equal...not even close. Some are not that durable while others are tough as nails. Some are near impossible to clean, some take your skin off, some you can DYI and others require a pro. You get the idea.

After this research I believe Raptor might be a solid option.

1. DYI kits that you can use with your compressor
2. 2 part system with a hardener seems to be the most robust option
3. Unique primers for bare aluminum, bare steel (anti corrosive), plastic, powder coat, etc for the best possible adhesion and protection
4. Adjustable texture based on PSI, so I can get a finer texture (ease of cleaning) Or even buy their more adjust gun.
5. Rattle can Raptor option for touch up. Fairly unique to bed liners to be able to touch up
6. Not a sharp texture, easy to clean
7. Easy to maintain a new look with Meguiar's Ultimate Black
8. Uniform. Everything would have a cohesive look and feel
9. Last but not least, very durable. From what I can find, more durable than anything else. I think you have to also look at it from the reverse, which coating option would you hate to remove the most.

Also, what is 'easiest' to repair if it does become damaged (are you willing to brush/rattle can/more complicated touchups). Project Farm did a test of bedliners under various conditions, and they all had a weakness. Pick your poison.

Great link. Yes most of those did come up n reseach, and faired just as poorly.

I do wish he had done Raptor and other two part gun applied options. In addition he didn’t use any primer to help promote bonding, nor did he prepare surfaces. Also wish he had a sample of rattle can and powder coat for a true side by side.

You are right though, pick your poison

Obviously with aluminum skids doing nothing is the logical choice. The steel brace does not fair well with the sand blasting it gets, hoping Raptor might solve that issue.

PP on RSG sliders gets great reviews. But not all PP is the same either, prep being the biggest mistake.

C4 bumper needs something, I think with the road punishment from sand in the winter here in CO, most options are going to suffer with chipping. But maybe not Raptor.

I have 4tor on my trailer. IMO, it’s too abrasive and watercan get behind it. I have prefer paint or powder coat.
