Realllllly interesting questions about Tundra brakes!!

1) Will I have any problems fitting the small or large Tundra brakes with these wheels? 2000 limited 16". I do NOT want to be grinding on my wheels to do this.

2) To get reman calipers and OEM rotors and OEM pads it will be about $375 to get the bigger Tundra brakes. Just so happened on my way home today I see a Tundra 2003 that was totaled from a rollover. Has the 13 WE brakes (I think). Definitely not the larger 13 WL. Guy who owns the towing company says he can sell it to me for $400. Then I can possible sell the 4.7 V8 that is sitting inside or go and sell it to a junkyard. He said the junkyard will give him about $400 for it, so I figured I can get close to that.


Any thoughts???

No fitting problems at all.

If you can part the Tundra you should be able to at least double your investment, if not more provided the engine, tranny, axles are all decent.

Honestly either one will work well. Since the Tundra has the WEs, use them. If they look bad buy a rebuild kit.

If it was me, Id go biggest i could. I love my large brakes. It wasn't that much for the whole setup from napa. I think I paid $350 for calipers and pads. But maybe if you have more time than money it might be worth it for you even know they are the small ones.

Decided against getting the Tundra. It was too much of a risk in my opinion. The work didn't help, but I wasn't afraid of it.

I am going with Autozone Duralast calipers (they're all remans of OEM anyway) with lifetime warranty. OEM pads and rotors. After taxes and core refunds I'll be looking at about $315.

Not too shabby for the larger brakes. With the Tundra I'd still have the smaller brakes. Junkyards around here are picked to the bone. Lake Charles is not too big of a city.

I know autozone typically is looked down on....but they do have a lifetime warranty which is hard to pass on...with OEM rotors and pads I think I'll be in good shape.

tundra upgrade was great for me.

there are two different size calipers. The smaller one's fit fine, the larger ones might not.

i chose the smaller calipers (still bigger than the stock 4Runner)
