Sadly in this world, I agree with ben550. Our enemy knows our liberalism and our weakness(es). They will use women and children to do evil deeds when the time comes because they know that we have a bleeding heart in regards to these vessels of destruction.
WHAT IF this was a test run? WHAT IF this kids parents wanted to see how our school system respond to such "innocent" devices? IF we did nothing, then the NEXT time somewhere else, a kid will bring the "real thing" to school knowing that there will be zero resistance and zero awareness.
This is why I teach my kids from very young age to NEVER draw a gun in school, to NEVER pretend to shoot people with your hand, and NEVER to talk about guns with classmates.

This kid got what he had coming.
IDK if he was a 9 yo with no maliciuos intent, unless he's been sheltered his whole life, not allowed to watch TV, movies, or anything, he's seen a "briefcase bomb" somewhere.
He knew what he was making, and knew the possibility of it being taken for something wrong. If he's that smart, then he definately knew it.
The school acted in an appropriate way to protect the lives of the students and teachers.
There were no charges brought up against the kid. He learned a valuable lesson, that in this day in age, don't put ****ing wires and something going "beep beep beep" into a briefcase and bring it into a school.

I feel it was an appropriate response. much better than doing nothing, and a bomb getting detonated in a school. the threat is very real, and those that mean to do us harm with use any means necessary.
should we sit back on our hands and react to a situation AFTER it happens? or be proactive and prevent it?
Since power & influence is really only held by a few, if Obama was truly a Muslim then that's the way it would be regardless of party or skin tone. Obama is the same puppet as Bush was and the next POTUS will be. Corruption requires smoke & mirrors to divide so you are too busy hating to see the puppeteers.

I saw the clocks the other kids made... they looked like clocks.
I saw the "clock" this kid made. It looked like an IED.
White, Black, Asian, Muslim... the sniff test is if you left that in a public place, school, government building... how long before the entire place would be put on lockdown and some Hurt Locker looking mofos with a robot would detonate that thing from a safe distance.

If some kid brought something like that to my kids' school (not a parent, just speaking hypothetically) I'd hope that someone would make him do the Taser dance and maybe get some good body blows in and toss his house top to bottom to make sure he wasn't planning a Columbine, Aurora (what the **** is it with Colorado), Virgina Tech shooting.

But, hey, you're jumping to conclusion dude...how do we know that he is an extremist or even Muslin?!! We have to let him do his "thing" and blow things up (since this was possibly a test run)...kill/injure hundreds of kids...then and only then we see him on the news...but the media will try to hide his religion and origin...and post a Facebook picture of him when he was 3 years old...and blame it on gun violence. Hilary and Obama will give a speech how this was all due to our violence society and guns and that we need to stop making suitcases to avoid a repeat.

I dunno, still not sold on it being a "test run" based solely on him being Middle Eastern. Plenty of dumb white kids who want to be ISIS that we can sew Semtex in their gut and send to the baseball stadium to pick from.
As for him not being "forthcoming" it sounds more like everyone made assumptions and didn't want to believe it was anything other than a bomb. I'm all up for being cautious, but it sounds like the engineering teacher should have been the first person they asked rather than call the police.
I mean if we're getting that paranoid, why don't we just bring back internment camps like WWII?
