Rear brush guards... worth it?

I've been thinking about rear brush guards... are they worth it? Do they actually protect your taillights from someone rear ending you or a deer or other stuff?

Worth it? yea or nay?

i wouldn't think they do much protection. if something hits hard enough... well it's gonna hurt something. i think they're more for looks.

just my 2¢.

Not saying it can't possibly happen but I highly doubt you'll rearend a deer. And no they wont protect the tail lights from a rearend collision with a car either. Maybe someone can give a purpose besides looks.

Not REARending a deer, but if you hit one by going forward and it runs into you... Rare, probably would never happen.
