Rear caliper replacement

I use NAPA, but I don't off road so don't know how they hold up if see under water/mud conditions frequently. They hold up well on highway.

Same as rdruss. I don't offroad but I do pull a travel trailer. I've always used NAPA calipers and rotors, their premium stuff. I have an '04 Sport

Definitely consider powder coating the calipers. When we installed the new tires from 4Wheelonline, the new calipers were rusty so we cleaned them thoroughly and have them coated. Still clean when we rotated the tires.

I have an 03 4runner Sport Edition that needs new rear calipers. Any recommendations on replacements?

Careful for which ones you buy. I just swapped one of mine with a cheaper OEM remanufacture (the autozone special) and the bits of metal the pad slides on are different than the originals. Cleaned up and used the 2003 ones :ohwell:

My front calipers seized up here. I offroad all the time, and the Powerstop calipers have been a great replacement. A friend of mine has the set of rears and he loves them just as much as I do.

I would recommend NOT going with the NuGeon brand from Rockauto. I bought a set for my 2008 and what I got was one caliper that was not even remotely close to being for a 4Runner (completely different design, piston was at least twice the size of the original, didn't come with a mounting bracket, wasn't coated, etc.) and the other had a hole in the casting exposing the rubber guide pin boot. Rockauto is covering the return shipping but I'm out what I paid to get them here. I plan on going to NAPA and grabbing their Adaptive One calipers so if there's an issue I can just go right back to the store.
