My 2004 4runner is equipped with the XREAS system and I just upgraded the front suspension with Rancho's QuickLift complete strut assembly (instead of using a spacer). Now the rear suspension is making a clunk noise when on an uneven road or while going over a bump. It almost seems like the car might be bottoming out. However, there are no signs of this happening. All nuts and bolts are tight, and all bushings are in good condition, so do you think that it may be something internal such as in the rear shock? I know the XREAS system connects the front and rear shocks, so I'm thinking that all the fluid has drained out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you change any of the shocks? (i.e. Swap or mess with) If you swapped any, the opposite needs to be swapped at the same time, and if you messed with it, check all connections.

If you removed the front shocks then that would kill the rears because the system is designed to have the passenger front connected to the driver rear and the driver front connected to the passenger rear. This is a closed system that cannot work without all the components installed as the hydrolic fluid runs back and forth between the 2 connected shock. At this point you are better off getting new rear shocks.

The fact that you opened up a sealed system and left it open after.. If you had taken a little more time and done your homework you'd of saved your self this hassle and maybe a little $..Trust me I've learned this the hard way when I was younger.
The rear end has been quite the opposite.. it feels "dead" and very little bounce
