Rear Control Arm Bushing Help

I recently bought a set of suspension bushings from energy suspension because my rear control arms have a lot of play in them. I am havin trouble pressing them out. I could probably press out the middle rubber part but the metal outer part is rusted against the control arm. Any ideas how to get it out, i bent a ball joint press trying to get them out

Have you tried spraying them with WD40?

Yeah didnt do anything, i was thinking about cutting them out

I just cut them out. much easier in the long run, and you don't stress the part as much. Your going to love those bushings. You might consider a mixture of M1 syn marine grease with copper antiseize, I found this seemed to last longer then other stuff. Use it like your not paying for it.

I was about to cut them out using a sawzall but i was just worried i was going to mess up the inside of eye on the control arm

Just drill holes, or burn out the bonded rubber portion, then cut the shell with a hack saw. You could use the sawzall for a portion, but I would use a hand saw for the end part. I had to use a chisel on some shells, even after using the saw.

I just finished puttin all of the bushings in, I ended up drilling all the rubber out and using a hacksaw to cut through the outer metal casing. It was pretty labor intensive but worth it
