Rear DIfferential Leaking

I just started noticing my rear differential leaking transmission fluid. I believe the the seal in that area is going bad. I want to ask you guys what I can do to alleviate this problem and what it might cost? Is there a do it yourself version of this or am I going to have to take it into the shop?

where is it leaking? left wheel, right wheel, drive shaft, 3rd member??

You have gear oil in the rearend not transmission fluid. If there is red on the ground then it is coming from somewhere else. If it is the rearend have you checked the basics like drainplug?

If it's leaking on your wheels then you probably have an axle seal blown. both of mine were just replaced. Check this write-up out..

Thank you for the correction... it is gear oil that is oozing out. I have attached a photo for better visualization of what I am talking about. I have checked the drainplug and it is not that. I don't think it's clear or not but you can see the drip flow.

It could be leaking right there where the diff bolts to the housing, but it could be leaking up at the pinion seal and running down there, as the whole underside of the diff looks wet in the pic.

I just took it to my mechanic and he says its the pinions seal and he offered to fix it for 90 bucks including oil. So thanks for all of your help guys.
