Rear end creaking while turning... what can I lubricate?

Something in the rear end of my 04 SR5 has been creaking while turning lately. Been getting worse and kind of obnoxious. The truck has 97k miles and is on stock suspension that is original. I mostly notice it when making slow right turns where there is a bit of body roll. Like turning from a stop sign. It also happens turning left but the noise *seems* to be coming from the rear right regardless. Is there something in the rear end that is a common culprit? Perhaps something I can lubricate? Thanks.

If it's a squeek, I'd spray silicone spray on the rear springs and bump stop. It could be the metal against rubber doing it. If it's a squeal, it could be that the brakes are squealing and need to be replaced. Try the spray first.

I'm going to try lubricating around the bumpstops but I'm having this problem too, it's definitely a creak v. a squeak though so I'm doubtful. It happens at low speeds while going up driveways/curbs and turning. I'm wondering if it is my spare tire cable, i'm going to take it down to remove pressure and see what happens.

I think it started after I installed the OME lift. Seems to have gotten worse over several months. Thanks for the post and any other ideas. Not a huge deal but it is a little annoying and worrying.

could be your rear shocks. remove it and test it out.

I would also check the mount for your spare tire. I had a creaking sound on my last 4th gen and again on my current one and both times it turned out the spare tire mount spring was making the noise. I sprayed some lubricant on the spring then tightened it up using the crank you use to lower and raise the spare and the noise is now gone.

my suspicion at first would actually be your panhard bar, take it off, check the bushings, put some lube on them and inside, then reinstall and torque them to spec. This might just fix your issue.

Could actually be your hatch. Spray 303 or silicone on all rubber back there - seals and the two alignment thingies. Did mine recently and quite again.

What you have gathered from this thread is to SPRAY EVERYTHING. check tightness of everything, links, panhard bar, spare tire, Ebrake. Bushings, check shock mount bushings

I know it's been awhile but I am having the same exact issue that you described. I hear creaking when I am slowing down and turning right (taking the weight off of something while doing that). Also noticed that when I am going down the hill and braking (taking the weight off the rear end). What have you found to be the problem?
