Rear extended bump stops

I think I’ve read every thread, duro bumps, junkyard blazer bumps, Daystar bumps, welding an extension, ect....

But I haven’t seen talk of the 1996 bump stops (48306-35180), or the more reasonably priced Febest TSB-738.

I’m using OME 890’s for coils and the Wheelers 1.5-3” lift Bilstien shocks.

I need about 2” added to the bump stops.
The current ones are 3” and solid.

Curious if anyone’s played with these and has an idea of total height and maybe compressed height?

I'm not really answering your question but I ended up with these for my rear setup which sounds like it's the same as yours (890's with the Tundra shocks) which is why I'm answering you.

When I bought them they didn't have the cushion on them (looks like they do now) which I bought separately, but I bought the same exact cushion. I got the second version for my lift. What a difference. I had the Toytec extension utilizing the original bump "brick" and that sucked. These hit and you almost don't realize it.

Those are the 3” Daystar bumps with an extension.
I have those on order ($45 per set) and I’ll weld up my own extension if I go that route.
I went ahead and ordered the FEBEST bumps ($35 per set) for R & D.

Mount looks to be the same center bolt setup my stock ones have.
Guess I’ll be able to answer all my own questions next week.

Thinking I should have just stayed with 4runner length rear shocks.
My brake line was too short. The e-locker harness support bracket needs extended, and the E-brake cable support bracket needs extended. Plus longer bump stops.
Not to mention the sway bar links and panhard bar mounts.

Fun stuff. LOL!

This was todays dinking around. Painted black after the pics, but left raw for the pics so it was easier to see. Tomorrow I'll extend the axle vent up to the gas fill area and work on the panhard bar.

No idea why they turn sideways when uploaded. iPhone I guess.

I received the Febest Bump stops. They mount by a single center bolt just like the originals. They are right at 1 3/4” taller than the originals. 2 1/4” vs 4”.

Unfortunately they are a copy of the originals in hardness. They are the same hardness. Harder than your average rubber mallet.

I think they will work for me, a dirt road driver. But I don’t think they would be what the rock crawler 4x4 trail folks would want.

Seeing as how Toyota had to do a recall to replace those bump stops on the early 4Runners because they created handling issues (when heavily loaded) - they weren't a likely solution. That's when they changed over to the shorter frame bump stops and the progressive cones inside the springs.
