Rear hatch bracket

Have a little problem while out on the road...

I have a 2003 4runner SR5 that less than a year ago i put on new struts for the rear hatch from lift supports depot. Last night as we were getting ready for bed, we closed the hatch and heard a loud bang. Opened it up and saw the driver's side strut had broken the ball joint on the top (hatch side)

No Auto zone has any struts in stock, nor can order one. O'Reilly's has something that resembles the strut in stock, but no promises on the hardware

My question is: does anyone have a lead on what kind of hardware I need for the hatch side assembly and where to find it? I am currently driving from Niagara falls to Burlington and will be there for a day or two, then onwards towards Acadia. Would love to have this figured out by then

You can try a Toyota dealer but you may have to check any savage yards you know of or see on your trip, looking at the parts diagram from Toyota they don't show the balls as separate parts, I guess they come with the OEM support cylinder.

Yea, from my past 6 hrs of researching I have realized that the bracket comes already attached to the top of the strut, and it snaps onto the bottom ball

I'm just so surprised that the ball snapped away from the bracket. On the broken cross section, it is completely rusted through. I thought lift supports was a trusted and reliable alternative to OEM, but I'm pretty unstoked on them, esp cause it is less than a year old and hasn't seen anything other than Atlanta weather. Obviously Monday if I have service I'm going to try and work it out.
