Rear hopping or am I going crazy?!

Ok so the past two days I have noticed while stopped at stop signs, sometimes I feel that the truck is "hopping" in the rear. I will be stopped with the transmission in "D" and it seems like the rear will just start jumping up and down slightly for no reason. Am I going crazy or is this actually a thing?
When investigating the underside I did notice that my T-case has developed a noticeable leak, I don't see how that could have anything to do with it but could it? I have no honest idea what this "hop" is or if it is just a figment of my imagination. Anyone have any ideas?

seems like I get this too when the air conditioning is on. May be due to the cycling of the A/C, causing the sudden higher idle.

AC was off when I felt the hopping

Pull your brake drums off and make sure axle seals/wheel cylinders are not leaking fluid into them. A rear end hopping is absolutely a possibility, but more likely the brakes are grabbing or damaged.

Even when completely stopped? I thought brakes also but this is happening after I am fully stopped, not in the process of stopping. I'll make sure to pull them off though. Had the seals changed last year, hope the mechanic didn't screw me

Unless the pinon is skipping teeth on the ring gear while sitting at a stop it's nothing from the rear end. Only parts moving while in gear at a dead stop are the transmission and the engine. Next time it starts to do this throw it in neutral and see what happens. If it goes away it's probably in the transmission. If it doesn't then it's probably in the engine.

I've had this happen a few times too. Now that I think about it, it's always at the same intersection, close to my house. It hasn't happened in a while so I forgot about it. The last time it happened I thought somebody was pushing down on my rear bumper

Rear end hopping while stopped at a certain intersection could only be caused by Dre.

Solution: turn tunes off.

I missed the stopped part.....because if you aren't moving, how can the rear end be hopping up and down? Doesn't make any sense anymore

Last time i had this issue

it as due to one of my rear tires being out of round and/or balanced incorrectly ie: by the tech not using the hub eccentric adapter. Tire manufacturer warranted the tire free of cost to me.

I get this sometimes on bridges, overpasses, and parking garages. But I am fairly certain that the bridge is moving. Is this happening on an overpass or a bridge or in a parking garage?

Felt it once in parking garage and could have sworn that I felt it again when stopped at a light on the road
