Rear Spring Install - Do shocks have to be disconnected?

Is it possible to remove and replace the rear coils using a 'good' spring compressor without removing shocks, panhard, rear sway bar, etc?

Would be replacing stock saggers with '99 talls.

It would be a ton easier to just disconnect the shocks than use a coil spring compressor.

I've always disconnected the rear shocks at the lower mounting point, it takes seconds to do and saves you many minutes struggling to get those springs in place.

You can remove top sway bar nuts, lower shock bolts and drivers side track bar bolt in 15minutes or less. I would guess it would take that long(or longer) messing w/spring compressor tool.

Disconnect rear sway bar links.
Remove lower shock bolt.
Let axle droop to remove old springs. Flex if need to. Keep an eye on the rear brake line.
Put in new coils.
Raise axle to attach lower sock bolt. Torque to 47ft/lbs.
Reattach rear sway bar links.

Done.

Was trying to avoid disconnecting the top shock bolt...didn't occur to me I could just undo the bottom.
