I have only been wheeling my 3rd gen for about 2 years so I'm new to most of this stuff (especially toyota)
I have Tundra 5100's front and rear, tundra springs front with OME 906 springs in the rear, sliders and General AT2's. Everything else is stock, and I do have the sway bars connected but use gen 2 links in the rear. I have not done extremely hard wheeling just what I would consider moderate, some pics included. My problem is my rear trailing arm bushings fail in less than a year. I replaced the toyota version with Febus the first time. They failed quickly. Replaced with toyota and they lasted almost a year. Out of desperation I built my own using energy suspension poly bushing. (lifetime warranty.....time will tell). These have only been on a few weeks so no info on these yet. I see pics of some of you guys flexing way more than I do and no mention of destroying your rear trailing arm bushing. I have checked everything under the runner to make sure everything is ok, not bent, or mangled, frame is good. Everything checks ok. Are the stock trailing arms consumables??? when replacing the arms I put the yota back on the ground and then torque bolts. What am I missing or is this normal?? I wheel 2 times a month and sometimes more in the summer.
Help!!!!! 60 views and no responses..
OK maybe I wasnt clear on my question.
for those of you that wheel moderate to hard do you have to replace your rear trailing arm bushings on a regular basis?????
