Rebuilding 1st Gen (Gray) Supercharger Nose Cone...Questions???

I'm wrapping up my timing belt/water pump job and am rebuilding the nose cone on my SC. Replaced the bearings, seal, and coupler in the nose cone. Also drilled and tapped a plug on the top side. Rotor plate bearings and needle bearings seem fine. Rotors still spin smoothly and the SC doesn't make any noises.

My question is on reassembly. While I was removing the nose cone the rotor plate also separated from the SC housing breaking whatever sealant was in between the rotor plate and SC housing. Will I have boost leak problems if I don't reseal the rotor plate to SC housing mating surface? Can I remove the rotor plate with rotors without removing the SC from the motor?

Yes you need to reseal. The sealant is called anaerobic sealant, and is available at most parts stores.

I got the anaerobic Permatex from Pep Boys. I got the rotor pack out without removing the SC, thought it wouldn't clear the timing/cam plate but it did. Anyone know what kind of grease I can use for the needle bearings? Original grease is blue in color.

Here are some photos of my S/C torn down. There is some scoring in the housing but no deep gouges. Housing and rotor appear to be in good condition with no indication of needle bearing or rotor plate bearing failure. Any opinions?

Looks clean. Did you ever have your rotors thermal coated?
