Recovery Points for 5th Gen with KDSS?

The majority of recovery point add-ons I've seen (ARB, for example) do NOT work on KDSS enabled 4Runners. Has anyone come across bolt on recovery point options that do?

Use the big front rings already there. For the rear, use the hitch.

^^ Haha. Yep. Don't fall for any BS you read on here or elsewhere about them being tie down loops. They work fine for recovery. You won't break them unless you're doing something really wrong or stupid or probably both, and even then you probably won't break them.

Agreed^ You could also use a bridle with it.

Get an LFD hybrid bumper and install it.

We've included solid recovery points, welded through the bumper and in-line with the frame.

i personally just picked up the treaty oak offroad ones. spoke to kyle there and he confirmed with me that it does work with KDSS.

i was always under the impression (through research here) that the hoops were indeed just tie down points, which is what lead me to buy the recovery points. i guess it's not the general consensus here anymore?

If I recall correctly it was just misinformation in a manual somewhere.

I've recovered and been recovered using the stock loops maybe 10-12 times... some with more force than I'd prefer and they haven't even budged.

Youll never get a general consensus on this one haha. But it has worked well on many occasions for several folks who wheel hard. Up to you really to decide what works best for you!

Yes, the stock "tie-down" points will work perfectly fine during a recovery that is anything approaching normal. However, if you're buried up to your mirrors in mud that is pretending to be quick-set concrete, you might need to upgrade to something else... like how to pick a better line between, around and over obstacles.
