Never purchased anything there but these are pretty mainstream stuff so shop around online. If you do a good enough search you'll find some deals and steals.
ebay is a good one too btw.
* 3x30 and 3x20 or even a 2x20 are good items to carry.
* warn shackle hitch is also recommended
* warn shackles (if you have a recover point to attach it to)
* avoid any straps w/ HOOKS! make sure they're hoops (no metal!!)
* don't forget some decent leather gloves (home depot?)
I'd say a few straps and a few shackles will get you started nicely!
Any brand will suffice, just make sure the limit on the straps are rated high enough (usually all the same but some made in some whack country might not be).
After cutting the back half of my frame and saw the inside of those hoops, I don't recommend it at all.
I would say those hoops work for but over time it'll fail. I would recommend that you pick up one of those hitch receiver shackle points as that is much safer and beefier
Here is how I carry my HI Lift jack. I also have the recovery box from them with the tree save, attachement so it can winch, chain and 30ft of strap from procomp and the ax's. Don't hit the wood with out it. Could be used more for other but nice to have.
That should be fine. The load-distro hitch is stronger than the one's on the V6 because of the attachment points to the frame. I use a hitch shackle I got off ebay. I also got a couple of shackles and tow straps off ebay for dirt cheap (2 shackles and 2 straps for $30 or so IIRC)
If you find yourself in a situation without the hitch shackle, you could insert the loop at the end of your strap into your receiver, and use the 1/2" dia. receiver pin inserted through the loop.
Keep in mind that you could expirence some chaffing from the inside edges of the receiver, if you are towing at an angle.
That definitely works although be careful in that most groups don't count that as a true recovery point, at least with the groups around here in GA. If they don't, they won't let you wheel with them. Picky aren't they.
