No, it's cool to know that it quieted down your Lockrite. My Spartan doesn't make much noise anyway, but quieter lockers has to be a good sign, right?

I'm using stock weight too. I know some people run thicker to quiet it down. Currently I have to listen for it in any turn except super tight ones. And only one "bang" like people say they hear on occasion.

If you manage to silence the WOOOB WOOOB WOOOB mechanical gear noises, the chattering, and even that irritating stutter you know is binding by swapping out for a better/thicker oil...

Apparently when you buy thousands of gallons of this stuff to top off every model you make, saving a few bucks per quart adds up.

I don't use the shockproof but I do use the redline 75w90 ns and it's very smooth. I put it in both diffs and the transfer case. I bought 9 quarts of it a while back. I think I'm down to 1 full bottle left. For those of you with full time lockers though I bet the heavy shockproof works well.

I have the Redline GL4 in my trans and it does a much better job than the modern GL5s. I think next time I do my rear diff I'll try this new stuff out.

Anybody running this stuff?

That is the only gear oil that has been used in the Chrisman 12.5 rear end of every TF/D I've worked on. Other oils have been tried, but none of them protect the gears as well.

I haven't used that particular product in any road legal cars. But all of the Redline oils I've tried in various applications, have been excellent.
