Redline SI-1, Seafoam, or leave it alone?

I have a 98 Limited with 188k miles. I've only owned it for the last 4,000 miles. It starts and runs great, but I do notice it idling a little rough sometimes.
It seems to have been well maintained, but was owned by a single woman who I doubt ever used any type of fuel treatment.
Could it benefit from a bottle of Redline SI-1?
Or, would anything less than a full Seafoam treatment be a waste of time? Is there any possible harm of doing the Seafoam at this mileage?
I don't think it is the case, but what if the buildup is massive? Could the Seafoam end up "loosening" something that causes other problems?

I don't trust women to be good on regular maintenance. Seafoam that thing and don't forget to put some in the crankcase, probably a ton of built up gunk from long overdue oilchanges.

Just a warning though, you will probably flush out a lot of junk and foul the plugs and 02 sensors, so be ready to replace those..and dont forget to change the oil after like 50-100 miles with the seafoam in the crankcase.

Any other possible negatives besides the plugs and sensors?
Causing leaks, etc?
How much will the sensors cost me? How will I know they are bad--service engine code?
Will it improve my gas mileage?

Just thinking, if it is running reliably now, is it worth doing all of that?

I think its worth it, it will fix the idle problem and improve MPG very slightly. Plus its probably a good idea to change the plugs anyway soon. Nothing wrong with a cleaner running engine. I did seafoam like 2 months ago, worked great.

Yes the engine code will tell you if a sensor is bad, hopefully they wont be fouled. The engine wont run if plugs are bad. So just change the plugs when you finish the seafoam anyway.

You're acting as though Sea Foaming is a big deal to do.

Sea Foam harms nothing.

It's simple.

It's $9

Do it.

1. 1/3 main vacuum line.
2. 1/3 crankcase
3. 1/3 gas tank

or if you don't want it in your crankcase:

1. 1/2 main vacuum line.
2. 1/2 gas tank

I use the Redline SI1. It is really just concentrated gasoline detergent. Use a whole bottle with a full tank of gas. Then switch oil to 5w30 Pennzoil Platinum (Walmart) which will clean up the engine if it needs it. You may also want to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body. Be sure to unplug the MAF before cleaning.
