Remote Start Options for Limited

Now that the mercury has dropped, I'm looking to get a remote start installed on my 2017 4Runner Limited. Wanted to see what options were out there, and what everyone had.

I know, use the Google Custom Search, and use the forum search. I've done that. I found the posts below, but they're from 2014. Surely, there must be some new products out there, no?

The best I can come up with is that the Fortin Evo-All would work for full take over. I am also looking to use an aftermarket extended range transmitter or iPhone app, from either Viper or Compustar. Is that a possibility?

I've reached out to gshadow325, but wanted to see if anyone had something similar on their truck.

I had it in my mind that I had a Viper on my 17 LE but the key fob says Avitel. Whatever the case, it works well with decent range. It does shut the engine off when the door is opened but I think that is an anti theft thing and I can put up with it as I only use it if the truck has been out in the open and it is really cold.

I have Viper smart start in my 17 TRD trail and it's solid.
I never rely on the app / iPhone 100% of the time though
as it's not communicated a few times on me. Not sure if that's
Vipers fault or Canadian cell coverage

That being said key fob or app it is sequence programmed to unlock then
immediately re lock then remote start as I still have the factory alarm active.
Without this step ( literally 2 sec ) the factory alarm would go off thinking
the trucks being started without the key.

I've tested the app smart start while away and someone that was home confirms
It turned on / off stayed locked etc.

Compustar is good too but I've had no exp other than word of mouth.

Been on viper in all cars since 2011. Hope this helps.

Do you have to carry the factory remote and the Avital remote?

I do but the Avitel fob is not very big and fits easily into my pockets. I do not wear skinny jeans as it would look excessively silly on an old f^rt like me. My cargo pants and jeans easily contain the set. I carry my wallet in a front pocket to give you a basic idea of fit. I carry the factory fob as it is required to start the LE and I have it set up to roll windows down in hot weather also.
