Removing 4th Gen Runningboards

I've tried to search on removal of runningboards of 4th gen, but have only found results for the previous 4runner gens. Is there anything I should know about it before just simply taking them off? I think I'd like it better if they were gone.

Pretty sure there are two bolts on each of the brackets holding the running board on, 3 brackets on each side, relatively easy, be sure to support the running board when taking it off

As stated above, there are 6 bolts per side. I laid underneath, took off either end, then the middle one last. Was easy.
With that said, if you ever want to put them back on do yourself a favor and drown it in PB-Blaster for several days, and maybe even heat them with a propane torch then blast them again for good measure. I broke most of my bolts right off, not that I ever was going to put them back on.

Yep. Pretty straight forward. A few brackets underneath and remove the light bulbs from the steps if so equipped.

Six bolts per side. I get my youngest to pay me for educational opportunities.

It took ten minutes with the first side and about five to do the second. I can't believe we waited a year to do it. Note the orange can of Kroil. It works better than Liquid Wrench if you can find it.
