Rendezvous in the Ozarks 2019 is coming up fast! I wanted to see who is going and also let people know about this great event!

Rendezvous in the Ozarks 2019 will be Oct 18-20th and hosted at Bryds Adventure Center. This is a great family friendly event and they really strive for the family friendly part. I was there last year and had a blast. This is now a tradition in my family! Randy and his crew do a great job at putting this event together and the staff at Bryds is great at well. Last year they had a swag give away and also a raffle. They gave away lights, wenches, and a roof top tent! Last year had lots of rigs and many vendors! Also they have classes going on all the time! Bryds has rv camping, electric camping and primitive camping. They have bathroom/shower house that stays pretty clean. They also have a restaurant on site, 4x4 trails and atv trails. I hope this gets some interest because I would love to see us 4runner owners beat out the Jeep population this year! If you anyone makes it to the event I would like to say hi and check out your rig! Ill be the big beard next to the 3rd gen Micah Jade!

Here is the site for more info and registering...

Sounds like a blast, hopefully the event keeps going until I can afford a lift and tires and bring the family or at least my boys.

Count me in. I was down in that area about a week ago exploring around Jasper Arkansas. Tried to find some off road trails but didn't have any luck.

If any of you know that area want to hit some trails sometime before then let me know. I'd love to go.

I would expect this event to stick around for a while. This is its 3rd year and it just keeps growing. I missed the first year but i know the amount of rigs double the 2nd year.

Some cools things to check out at the event....

The Cross..... Yes it is a big cross but the view from it is awesome. There is a spot you can pull off and get pics or check it out for yourself. This trail is part of Bryds and is rated easy.

Toliet bowl waterfall.... I have only seen pictures of this but i will be asking Bryds how to get there. I do know you have a small hike to get to it but from the pics ive seen its worth it. Water flows into what looks like a toilet bowl! Then you can hike down to the bottom and see it flowing down. Another great place for pics, lunch, or even a sit down!

Dont forget pack out what you pack in! Lets leave no trace we were there!

How will a Stock SR5 do on the trails? Not sure if I will have my lift done by then.

Not much of a camper, so anyplace else around there to stay?

My 99 limited is stock with rear diff lock. I had Nitto trail tires on and airred down. I was able to do the easy trail even with all the rain the day before. Bryds staff also gave me another option to run as well being that I was stock.

Looks like there are a few motels or inns within 15mins of Bryds. Never stayed at any so I can't speak for the quality.

I just put in my registration. Looking forward to this event.

Question - what radios do you recommend?
Not interested in HAM.

Also is a vehicle flag required?

no flag or radio required - lots of folks have CBs, many are switching to GMRS, and some have all the fancy high dollar stuff

weather is looking good - finger crossed

Events almost here...

Looking forward to the get away! Can't wait for Thursday! Can't wait to hit the trails! Hope to get the rear diff breather extension in this weekend! Got my storage/sleep platform done a couple weeks ago. Look decent for first time doing anything like this. Looking forward to seeing more 4runners this year!

They also put on a bond fire at Bryds Adventure center. This is more of a get together to just meet up with like mind 4x4 people, do some trails, and hang around a fire! The Rendezvous is the big event! Lots of rigs, vendors, raffle and more!

Got the 4Runner a lil dirty plus a few pinstripes. Scraped some paint off the sides of my new Shrockworks Rock Sliders. Had to knock the newness off this rig!

I'm in for next year. Had a blast.

Drobs glad you had fun. Was nice to meet you! Sorry it was at the end of the event but next year we will hit up some trails together. They changed the 2020 date from Halloween to Oct 15-18. When registration comes up I will put up another post for 2020.

Those who couldn't make it this year should really try for next year! Its a great time, good environment and lots of nice places to ride! Last year they gave away 23,000 in prizes and this year was 40,000. Last year was 300+ rigs this year 400+ rigs! So come join the fun!

I spent a couple hours chatting with the guys from West Plains, Missouri (Ozark Overland Outfitters - Offroad Parts, Fabrication and Mechanic) that had the Unimog ($30k if you want to buy it) and 3 Land Cruisers. Seems they are importing rooftop tents and overlander gear from South Africa plus had a couple guys from SA there with them. They also rebuild / outfit Land Cruisers and other Toyotas.

Spent some time talking guns and Toyota's with the owner's Dad. We noticed pretty much everyone there (myself included) were packing pistols. Everytime someone got up to collect their raffle prize, their holsters were poking out from under their shirts.

He was packing a nice stainless Ruger Blackhawk flat top revolver in 44 Special. I carried my Sig P365 the whole weekend.

Next time I find myself in West Plains - I plan to stop in for a visit.

Things that go boom are a big interest to me and ammo! He packs a 38 special under his beard and I pack a full size 357 under my beard! Nothing better then 4runners, guns, and beer!
