Let's hear it Reno members, have you ever witnessed the fastest race in the World?
For those that don't know, the unlimited class is a handful of highly modified WWII war planes that are multi-million dollar speed machines that race around a track at Stead (sp) Airport.
September 11-14 I believe
Although for me the only race that matters is on Sunday when the gold cup race is ran. These guys go all out, some reaching speeds of 500 + mph and create a thump inside your body when they go cruising by the pits just 100 yards away. These guys sometimes get so close to the ground that they catch sagebrush on the wing tips!
Trust me, you go once and your hooked! Just the sound alone will keep you coming back for more.
I will be there, pending my back surgery is in time enough for me to drive down and maybe hit some local trails around town.
Might be a good meeting place for the west coast members to meet and great. I have to warn you though hotel rooms go fast so unless you want to be a real man and camp (lol) make your reservations soon!
