Replace rear bumper, 2002

I have a 2002 4Runner Sport Edition, I can't remember the color but it is kind of a mix between gold and beige or champagne. I was rear ended by someone and need some advice on how to replace it.

Where is the best place to buy a replacement? And can I buy it with the same color code so i don't have to paint it? After a quick search I noticed some chrome bumpers, is that a good option or will it look funny on this model?

How difficult is it to replace the bumper and does anyone know of a tutorial on how to do it or it is pretty much just unbolt and replace?

There isn't a lot of damage but the bumper is bent in a little on one side and the hitch mount is scratched. Is it possible the frame is bent since it hit the hitch mount? The person behind me got slammed and then they hit me.

It is a matter of removing some pieces clipped onto the bumper (e.g., sill plate on top of the rear bumper) and then removing some bolts. They tend to collect rust easily back there, so while it's not hard, it will probably be a PIA. I'd DEFINITELY encourage you to d.i.y. though!

Certifit sells decent parts cheap. You'll have to have it painted though. I would stick with a color-matched bumper, especially if that's what you have now. Junk yards probably aren't a very viable option because it'd be hard to find one in good shape (everyone seems to have dents in their rear bumpers for some reason) and in your color.

Very doubtful that the frame bent if it was just a fender-bender (under ~15mph?)
If you're getting insurance money, have you considered an aftermarket bumper?

I have all the bracket supports for the rear bumper.

Sorry can't answer your questions on what all is involved in replacing.

If you need them you can have them. Shipping would be on your dime of course...
 
One thing that might be a problem is part of the bumper bent down so the bracket where it attaches to the frame may be bent. I'll have to look at it and see if it looks like something I could bend back in place, maybe heat it up and hit it with a minimaul.
 
I just replaced the rear bumper on mine 2weeks ago. The chrome was pooping with rust and looked like crap,and one of the bumperettes had popped on the bottom as well. I soaked all bolts with Liquid Wrench,and they all came out fine except for one. Apparently during original build the nit was rounded off. I ended up having to cut it off with a sawzall. Now to the bumper replacement. I had ordered a new bumper (3pc) on ebay,can't recall which place. Anyways it shows up,and has a big dent right in the face of the bumper. Instead of dealing with sending it back I hammered it out from the backside and filed it smooth. Then painted everything with black truck bed liner,turned out great. Install took me about 3-1/2hrs,way longer than it should have. The center piece fought me the whole way. I cussed,pryed bent,and bled and still didn't get all the bolts in. What do you expect from a piece made in Tawain? The bumperettes however went on and fit perfectly. For $140 shipped it's not a bad deal,however the fitment sucked. And I'm a bodyman so this wasn't my 1st rodeo.
 
2002 T4R LTD bumper

Hey, buying a 2002 and this is the only body work it needs right now:

Right rear corner, on the bumper, is dented and rusted. Sales guy says rear bumpers for the 2002 are modular on the LTD trim and I can replace only this part. Where can I find this? Possible to get one in Dorado Gold, pre-painted, and shipped to me directly for the install? Wager the brackets and hardware are fine, if a bit rusted, but not concerned about that.
