Replaced Stereo - Popping Noise

I had my JBL head unit replaced with a new Pioneer but now it makes a popping noise when I turn off the engine. The installer said that we needed to adjust the volume on the original head unit down and that it would then work. We put it at 10 and reinstalled but it is still doing the same thing. Anyone run into this and have a fix for it?

This is the adapter that was used to bridge the pioneer to the amp.

It sounds like the stereo is turning off before the amp has a chance to turn off. If the amp is still active, it will pop when the audio input disconnects. Are you sure the amp power wire is hooked up to the new stereo properly?

It's using a harness made for this stereo so I guess it is correct. That said, I have ordered a new harness and hopefully that will solve it.
