Replacement Motor Mount Perches - Next Venture Motorsports?

I have a cracked motor perch on my 2000 T4R 5VZ-FE. The stock perches look awfully weak so was thinking of getting something beefier. Found this offering from Next Venture Motorsports: https://www.nextventuremotorsports.com/product/toyota-3-4-5vz-fe-motor-perches/

They look pretty decent but no reviews or feedback anywhere online. Has anyone used these? Or have a better alternative?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for someone to weld them in in the Denver area? TIA

I had a similar issue with a cracked motor mount perch. I ended up using DMZ Fab purches. They were $99 but already fully welded. I was able to go to my buddies shop and he let me use his lift to make work a little easier than doing it in my driveway. I didn’t take any good pictures but they worked out well for the past couple years. The ones you linked are a good price and having those hooks on the bottom might make life a little easier getting things lined up. Just gotta get them welded up, which is not a problem if you can do it yourself but if you are paying someone to do it, it could end up costing more in the end. Either way those look like a decent product.

The next venture ones are thicker at 1/4" instead of 3/16" and like you said the hooks are nice and make them look more like OEM so I think I'll try them out, I'm going to give him a call. I unfortunately don't have the skills or equipment, though it's something I would like to learn. I feel like this could cost me an arm and a leg to get done. Several posts I've found mentioned pulling the engine to weld them in properly, were you able to do it without?

Wow! The cost went up that much? That's a lot I feel like, but steel costs have gone up quite a bit this year. Thanks to Trumps tariffs I'd go with the ones you posted then for less than half the price, 1/4" plate, and the hooks.

I was able to get them welded without pulling the engine. We just put it on the lift, unbolted the motor mounts, and used an under hoist jack to push the engine up as much as possible to make room to work. Then we were able to plasma cut the old perches off, and grind it all smooth (That part was a b!tch), then bolt the new perches on to the motor mounts and lower the engine to where it needed to be. From there we tacked everything in place, unbolted and jacked the motor back up out of the way. Welded it all back up . I was able to weld the bottom and sides no problem, but the top I just welded the best I could without being able to directly see what I was doing. They've held up great to the abuse I'v put them through over the past couple years now.

It was definitely a PITA, but totally doable without removing the engine. I would expect it to not be very cheap because of how much labor is involved with dropping the diff, unbolting the mounts, cutting, grinding and welding, painting, reassembly, etc.

I need motor mounts; I’m pretty sure my engine is moving enough allowing my fan to hit my shroud occasionally.

What are these new venture perches? I know Tim at DMZ as well and text him asking if he made motor mounts for the 3.4l and he said no.

I’ve even tried to convince matt at MCM to make 3.4l motor mounts and it’s not working.

I know of one company that makes them solid_offroad and he wants $375 a pair. I just bought motor mounts for my s10 dezert truck and they were only $135. That were similar and I can’t get my self to pay close to $400 for the 3.4l mounts.

Perch is just the part that the motor mounts bolt to on the frame side.

New venture makes some as you can see in the first post, and so does DMZ fab. Which is what I have. I didn't know that new venture existed when I bought mine. http://dmzfab.com/product/tacoma-motor-mount-perches/

Idk what that would specifically be called, but that is more of a complete motor mount replacement that eliminates the bracket that bolts to the motor. Less pieces to fail I guess. I think the stock brackets that bolt to the motor and motor mounts is just stamped sheet metal if I remember correctly. Those solid offroad mounts are pretty beefy.

Is that stand off the “perch” left side of the picture below.

Yeah that left piece is the perch. Then the actual motor mount, then the "block mount" (idk if that's what it's called, but sounds like we are on the same page of what we are describing it as)
