Replacement struts for 2003 with XREAS

Looking for some guidance in dealing with strut replacement for my 2003 with installed XREAS system. I recently purchased replacement struts for the vehicle (Monroe) and just learned that I have XREAS on the vehicle. The question is can I still put the Monroe struts on and disable the XREAS system? If I can, how do I disable it? If it is disabled and I want to go back to the XREAS in the future can I re-activate it or is it no longer usable if I disable it? I am trying to find an inexpensive solution for now so hopefully I can simply disable the system and have the Monroe struts put on as they were priced much better than getting the XREAS struts. Thanks for any help you can provide.

All the information you seek is available to you in the search function as well as the stickies at the top of this forum. With that said, typically once you disable the system (its a hydraulic system) you don't want to go back. The reason is that if you don't disconnect at the factory release points, then the hydraulic fluid in the system then won't get a the appropriate level and won't give you the benefit of the XREAS system.

I would search the forum and look at some of the write ups. It will help you immensely.

I removed my XREAS system entirely about a month ago, went the Bilstein 5100 shocks and Moog springs. Much much cheaper route. I will not be able to go back based on my removal methods but I never intend to either.
