Replacement Windshield Glass...

I am in need of a new windshield. I have several chips and a large crack. I am looking for a quality replacement. I have already received some quotes from several autoglass installers. One if for an FYG and the other is for XYG. Does anyone know about the quality of these windshields? Does anyone have a recommendation for a better windshield?

im on my 3rd windshield.
this time i went to a place and they put in a fy glass.
so far i have a nice long crack at the bottom of the windshield, from the bottom of the driver side and all the way to passenger side, its about 2-5 inches from the bottom., i still havent replace my glass yet but been running the same glass for over 3 years now. i should replace it tho.

i think the quality is alright.

The glass is for sure important, but the installer installing it correctly so no leaks and rust is 95% of the job. Find a place you trust and they will likely use a good windshield automatically

I found a place that is near by that is supposed to be reputable installer. They swear that FYG is OEM Toyota. I Call BS on that and no longer trust him. From what I found AGC is OEM for Toyotas manufactured in Japan. I found another shop that is several cities away from me that says they can get the OEM AGC. I am waiting for them to get back to me with a quote.

If I cant get the AGC I might buy an OE Toyota one at the dealer. I have the FYG and in the year I have owned it I have gotten more chips than Ive had combined on all my other cars in the past.

The first installer said he can special order a plinkington, does anyone have any experience with this brand?

its a good brand, just like ppg.
to me i stop changing my windshield since the freeway im always using has so many road debris, also alot of truckers on it. everyone in the bay area california can agree with me that 880 is the only place to get damage windshield fast.

Unfortunately that is not an option for me. I wasn't planning on changing it until the chips got really bad unfortunately I got hit by a small rock that instantaneously cracked my windshield. The crack is about 8 inches long and growing. My annual inspection for registration is next month and I know that crack won't pass.

The only other brand other than FYG and XYG that I can find is Plinkington. I went ahead and told the shop to order it for me. I also ordered a bug deflector. maybe that will help prevent future damage.
