Replacing lug nut/ Driving hard and dying?

I was painting my rims and a buddy of mine was helping putting the wheels back on and busted the lug nut and tore the bolt off with it. I have a replacement how hard is this going to be? Or is it as simple as popping the rear tire off hammering out the bolt and putting the new one back in? I have a 1999 4Runner 4x4 V6. Also I have noticed when I give my truck a lot of gas and right when I let off the accelerator all the way (quickly) and get on the breaks or not at all. The truck dies. And the electronics stays on but the power steering goes out and the engine is completely off. I have to safely try and pull over to a shoulder and turn the ignition off and re start the vehicle and usually doesn't start the first turn.

If you need to replace a stud on the rear, it is fairly simple. Pull the drum off, hammer out the broken stud and press in the new one.

I replaced one recently. I soaked the broken stud with PB blaster for a day. Then I hammered it out with a steel punch and 5 lbs. hammer (only took 3 hits). I slid the new stud into place and seated it by cranking a lug nut onto it.

yeah that ^ not much more to add except that if you can find a thick bushing that will fit over the stud, you don't have to put the lug nut on as far before it starts to suck in the stud.

Awesome! That's what I thought it'd be. And I'm guessing no advice for the other issue
