Replacing rear brake rotors 2005 4runner

Having trouble gettting the rotor off. The parking brake drum is too tight. Do you push the star wheel up or down to release pressure? I have tried both and haven't gotten it. Too tired to continue. Been fighting it for hours. Which way should I push it, up or down? Have done many in my day and never had a problem. This is the first time. Have searched the forum but have not found which way it should turn. Thanks

Thanks, I had watched the video, but I did not see where he said which way to turn the wheel. Thanks again, I started out turning it up, will go down tomorrow.

Good luck... I have to adjust mine eventually too. My parking brake doesn't do anything but I have wheel spacers on so I can't access the star nut and I'm lazy :behindsofa:
