Where in the world did you get 7500 mi?
Someone made a typo on one of the forums and everyone replicated wrong info everywhere.
Official manuals says the light will start flashing for about 15 seconds at 4500 mi,
and it will remain on after 5000 mi.

I have two '03 4Runners, an SR% V6 and a Limited V8. In both Owners manuals, on page 121, it states;
When you drive for about 8000 km (5000
miles) after the engine oil replacement,
this light illuminates for about 3 seconds
and then flashes for about 12 seconds
with the ignition key turned to “ON” position.
If you continue driving without the
engine oil replacement, and if the driving
range exceeds 12000 km (7500 miles), the
light will come on after the ignition key is
turned to “ON” position. The light will remain
on thereafter.
Apparently Toyota may have changed the recommended service intervals in the later models, but the earlier 4gen models is where that 7500 figure came from.
