Reset Oil Change Maint Light?

Hold down the odometer reset button while you turn on the ignition. It will take about 5 seconds than it will blink and go off.

On some of the Toyotas, with the ignition on you have to select trip A mode on the odometer and then shut the ignition off. Then while holding the button in (while in trip A mode) turn the ignition on. You will see the - - - - - hash marks delete from left to right on the display. Continue holding the button until the display clears and release the button. You have now reset the maintenance indicator.

I assume the above is correct. It's in the Owners Manual but I don't have access to it at the moment.

Yes that is correct, I have already done this. Be sure you have it on the odometer setting, then turn off the key. Then hit the re-set button and turn the key to on and hold the re-set button. Pretty easy really.

Mine does not have to be in ODO mode to do it. Matter of fact, it won't work using that process for mine. I simply hold the reset button while turning the key to ON. Hold the button down until the light goes out. You are done.

The dealer did not reset my maint light during my last oil/filter service. This method worked on my '07 SR5.

reset the oil change light

On my 2004 V-8 Limited, to reset the light you must have your odometer in the odometer mode for it to work (verses trip 'A' or 'B' mode), hold the reset button down when you start your vehicle until it starts to blink, the light should go off; will take 5+ seconds. Note: after reading other post, if this doesn't work for you then try your odometer in the 'trip A' or 'trip B' mode as different years might have changed the procedure. Good Luck

I do synthetic at 5k, and it's nice to have my wife ask me about the service light as a reminder on her truck.
