Resonator

Hi all! I am sure this was posted somewhere, but I could not find it after searching this site...
I have a 2006 Sport V8. I recently had a Flowmaster 40 series put on my truck. I left the resonator on not knowing the volume. After driving for a few weeks, I think it is slightly too quiet. Should I remove the resonator or will that give me too much sound? I don't want the raspy gross tones that come out of some systems. I just want a grumble that says there is some ass under the hood! Any info is helpful! Thanks!

Resonator doesn't change the sound much or at all with the stock exhaust. I doubt it'd be different with that muffler.

If you want it a little louder without welding in a new muffler, your best bet and cheapest alternative is to remove the resonator. It might provide a little extra rumble that you're looking for. Typically, Flowmaster mufflers will not produce a raspy sound so you should be good to go.

Thanks for the input. I am not going to do the side exit for now. I am just taking baby steps. I've only had the muffler for a few weeks. I initially was going to get the 50 series and boy am I glad I didn't. My last car was a mustang and I know I won't get the same results as that, but I feel like since I do have a V8, I want it to sound as such!

I have a 40 series also. I did a side exit and resonator delete. The sound is awsome! Plus it cuts down on the sulfer smell when the back window is down too.
