My dumb as couldn't even rescue the trucks /: I got stuck 50 feet from them.
We attempted to dig them and myself out but it was a no go. 6 ****ing hours we were there!!! And 8 hours they were there!! A neighbor with an f-250 lifted and winched pulled me, the jeep and the ram out (I said the wrong trucks bc I though my buddies were in their vehicles)
Today sucked and I now know I need lift, winch, and wings to fly over the 5 feet deep and 20 wide hole the ram was stuck in.
Lesson learned.

A lift wont really help, a winch only helps if there is something to hook on to.
Best things for traction are tires, lockers and a low set of gears.

what you need is a 4wd.... im not trying to bash you or insult you or attack you, but what you did was borderline stupid(i would of thought youd of learned from other, and or your last rescue of the xj...) if a 4wd gets stuck chances are that even a 2wd with a locker is not getting them out.
when you can afford it, sell that runner and get one with 4wd... dont do any mods to this one that you can not swap or take back when you sell. so that way you can transfer everything you have done to the new 4wd and you have not lost any money. and save that money to buy a 4wd, just my .02

while I agree with you, even locked my buddy was screwed this weekend. I say go with both which is what I am working towards. glad I am in CO with lots of trees to hook to, re-bar also works which is why I carry a few bars...

I will when I get to my laptop top. I only have a pic of my rescue because ingot the hell out of there ASAP! And yeah I know I need a 4wd but or know this is what I got. I could have actually rescued them but they called someone else first and a cop noticed his entry and locked him in (it's a resivoir so it's fair game). the entrance he used was a strait forward partly to pull out the jeep,(bottomed out by slipping into old tracks.
So the 250 got me and the jeep out but at 9:30pm we got a call from the ram guy and the 250 that they were stuck again and had been there since 2 we all mounted up in the jeep with its winch cable !!(they left it at home the first time)
And pulled them out around 11pm.
And I woke up to go fishing/beaching in the runner at 4 am.
Once I'm out of college I'll get a 4wd guys but for now I'm 2wd.
